Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, has been granted permission to attend their baby’s birth.
Mrs. Onika Maraj-Petty is pregnant with her first child and was facing the possibility of childbirth alone. However, a judge has reduced Kenneth Petty’s travel restrictions, as he awaits trial pertaining to his March 2020 arrest, for failing to register as a sex offender when he moved to California.

Petty’s failure to declare his move to California to live with his wife, resulted in him being arrested, then released on a $100,000 bond with strict travel restrictions.
According to TMZ, a judge has since agreed to change the conditions of a pretrial release for Kenneth to allow him to travel with Nicki “periodically on business trips as her manager.”
Petty is forbidden from using illicit substances and is mandated to wear an ankle monitor.

Kenneth Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995 when he was in a teenage relationship. He served almost 4 years in NY state prison and is a registered sex offender. If convicted on the federal charge for failure to register, Kenneth faces up to 10 years in prison.
Petty being a registered sex offender does pose future problems for the couple, if they should ever call it quits and custody or visitation became an issue.
ICYMI: Back in January 2020, Nicki Minaj’s older brother, Jelani Maraj, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for raping his 11 year old step daughter.
This will be Nicki’s first child and the 6th for Kenneth Petty.
