NETFLIX / TV: In addition to her many media roles, Jay is also a respected hospitality professional. In 2017, she was a member of the elite reopening team for the World’s Best Restaurant, Eleven Madison Park. Her role as the (then) only African American woman in a FOH position as Host earned her a spot on TV. She appeared on Netflix’s original documentary series on the World’s Biggest Events “7 Days Out” Season 1, Episode 2, Eleven Madison Park.

November 2018:

January 2016:

COMMUNITY SERVICE: On January 30th, 2016, Jay was invited to speak at Brooklyn Youth Ministry‘s One Day Retreat on the topic: Technology vs Theology. She presented to youth ages 10-40, from various episcopal churches including Brooklyn’s St. Paul’s, St. Augustine, St. Barnabus, St. George and St. Mark.

2015

MAGAZINE / DIGITAL: Jay Blessed was interviewed by Sharon Boone for Essence Magazine April 2015 issue (Kelly Rowland cover) in a thought provoking feature on mental health check-ups, with Jay disclosing her own battle with depression. As a mental health advocate, Jay shared an honest snippet of her life in hopes that it would heighten awareness to the signs of depression and continue the conversation on a subject still very taboo in the African American and Caribbean community. COMMUNITY SERVICE: Jay Blessed became the youngest committee member of Brooklyn Borough Hall’s Caribbean American Heritage Month, under the tutelage of Borough President, Hon. Eric Adams. She served on the Marketing committee.

September 2013:

COMMUNITY: Jay Blessed an official member of the press team for the historic 3-day Caribbean Fever Irie Jamboree Music Festival. This was the first Caribbean held at the landmark Barclays Center in downtown Brooklyn, New York – Labor Day Weekend on Friday, August 30 through Sunday, September 1, 2013.

July 2013:

REALITY TV: In July 2013, Jay Blessed was approached by producers to audition for the cast of a new U.S. reality TV show, “Caribbean Queens” starring Melky Jean, Claudette Ortiz and Tricia Campbell. Contract negotiations were futile and the show was later scrapped.
