Jay Blessed is an award-winning Caribbean blogger, podcaster, positive influencer,  and mental health advocate. She is committed to using her platforms to bring awareness to the power of Caribbean people and their culture, while using her voice to passionately push the overall importance of mental wellness and therapy – especially in communities of color.

Jamie Alleyne-Morris, known to many by her sobriquet, Jay Blessed®, is the living testament of hard work, determination and faith in practice. The notable Caribbean influencer was born in Trinidad and immigrated to New York at age 18, with only “$75 dollars and a dream.” She has since built a trustworthy reputation in her respective fields.

Through the domination of her award-winning website, JayBlessed.com, which welcomed over 300,000 visitors per month during its infancy in 2011, she fortified an international name for herself. Jay nurtured her niche blog which focused mainly on Caribbean entertainment news. Akin to TMZ, JayBlessed.com was able to break stories, interview Caribbean celebs and leaders, as well as, create original content.

JayBlessed.com also broke online grounds by creating a voice for the Caribbean LGBT community, when it hosted the first-ever weekly LBGT column, authored by Caribbean transgendered immigrant, “Denise,” who has since become an Immigration Equality Asylum winner and spokesperson.

Jay Blessed has been a featured voice on numerous Caribbean radio stations, as on-air and voice over talent. In addition to producing her own underground radio shows and weekly live web show, she served as co- host to program director and mentor, Rennie Bishop on his “Caribbean Corner” radio show, on the now defunct WWRL 1600AM.

Her original stories have appeared and credited on numerous publications including; Trinidad Express, OCEANstyle Magazine, St Vincent News, and she has appeared and been featured on numerous media outlets including; NY Daily News, Fox Baltimore, The Wendy Show, AP News, The Bethenny Show, WOMAN Wise Magazine, The Verge, Trinidad Guardian, Jamaican Gleaner, Jamaican Star, WPIX 11 and Essence Magazine.

Jay Blessed is a staple in her Caribbean community. Often times serving in many capacities from silent to active member, supporter and advisor in many Caribbean organizations, businesses, local and national events. She remains an authentic force; passionate about her Caribbean culture and about positively utilizing her gifts and talents. She has spoken on numerous panels on Caribbean entertainment, youth mentorship, women’s rights, immigrant issues and mental health.

In 2013, Jay Blessed was an integral part of the PR team for the Irie Jamboree Caribbean Music Festival, the first 3-day Caribbean festival held at the Barclay’s Center. The previous year, JayBlessed.com was the official media sponsor for Machel on the Beach at Jones Beach Nokia Theater.

Jay Blessed was the youngest person to serve on Brooklyn Borough President, Hon. Eric Adams‘ – Caribbean Heritage Month Committee in 2014; she served as Media Chair for Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy‘s 25th Anniversary Gala; and for three years she also served as the Social Media Director for the City of Baltimore’s legendary African American Festival.

She has been nominated for “Best New Blog” by the Black Weblog Awards, received the Most Dominant Caribbean Media Award by FashionBloc and was honored by Congresswoman Yvette Clark with a Shining Star Award for Outstanding Contributions and Leadership in Communications.

In 2015, Jay Blessed served as Keynote Speaker at the Putting Power In Your Purpose conference in Maryland.

Jay Blessed was awarded by Caribbean Life Newspaper with a 2019 Impact Award and she is also the recipient of a Citation from Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.

In October 2018, Jay Blessed rebranded and re-launched JayBlessed.com, with the addition of fresh original content, focusing on human experiences from a Caribbean perspective.

In May 2019, she debuted her very real, very raw, very relatable weekly IN MY HEAD podcast. #HeadwithJB podcast is focused on mental health from a Caribbean perspective and is now heard in over 86 countries.

Jay Blessed’s “IN MY HEAD” podcast was the first Caribbean podcast to ever be nominated at the Podcast Awards. #HEADwithJB was selected in the Best Health category at the 15th Podcast Awards to be held in September 2020.

During the Covid19 Pandemic, Jay Blessed used her voice to spread the importance of mental wellness. She appeared in the NY Daily News, XONecole, WENYTV, WVIP and a panelist on the inaugural, The SocaMom Summit.

Jay is the sole owner of the Jay Blessed trademark and Jay Blessed Media LLC, a boutique digital media firm that creates and executes strategic content for brands, events, and agencies.

Jay is available for strategic partnerships, ambassadorships, interviews, panels, hosting and voice-over opportunities.

She lives in Brooklyn with her teenage daughter.
