Calypsonian – The Mighty Shadow Has Died.

Calypso legend, The Mighty Shadow passed away this morning.

The Mighty Shadow, born Winston Bailey in Tobago, who recently celebrated his 77th birthday on October 4th, suffered a stroke on Sunday and took his last breath today at 3am, October 23rd.

“I will miss him dearly. He is one of the most creative minds I have ever met,” NCC Chairman and fellow Calypsonian Winston ‘Gypsy’ Peters stated, as he confirmed the passing of the The Mighty Shadow.

According to a previous article in T&T Guardian, Bailey was to receive his Honorary Doctor of Letters at the University of The West Indies, during the graduation ceremonies scheduled to begin on October 25 at the St. Augustine, Trinidad campus.

The veteran calypsonian  is known for his signature dance and for his classic hits such as, Yuh Looking For Horn,  BassmanDingolayTensionStranger.
