It never made it on her “Queen” album, but it did get leaked!

Iconic 80s/90s folk musician, Tracy Chapman is suing Nicki Minaj for copyright infringement for her song titled, “Sorry.”

Grammy award-winning Chapman alleges that, back in June 2018, the Queen Barb and her team reached out for permission to incorporates the lyrics and vocal melody of Baby, Can I Hold You and was denied permission.

Chapman’s suit claims the request for permission was made after the song was already recorded for Minaj’s album “Queen,” which was released in August and that though Minaj didn’t include it on the album, she did leak the track.

Chapman further claims that Minaj forwarded the track to a HOT 97 DJ who subsequently released the song publicly – live on air and via social media.

Chapman is most famously know for her classic hits songs “Fast Car,” “Baby, Can I Hold You” and “Give Me One Reason.”
