Jamaican Ska Singer Floyd Lloyd Dies At 70.

According to JayBlessed.com sources, Jamaican reggae musician and singer Floyd Lloyd has died at 70.

Born Lloyd Seivright in St. Ann’s, Jamaica, the singer died at the St. Ann’s Bay hospital, a week ago on Tuesday November 6th.

Ska lovers might know him for his famous 1982 hit, “Jah Jah Why.” Some of his only well-known singles include “Soulful Lover Baby,” “Love Knows,” and “Mango Blues.”

His discography consists of six albums:

  • Better To Laugh Than To Cry (1982)
  • Tear It Up: The Ska Album (1997)
  • Our World (1998)
  • Alchemy (2001)
  • Believer (2002)
  • Mind Over Matter (2004)

The entertainer is reported to have died at the hospital after being checked in for stomach pains.
