PNM Declares Victory In Close T&T Elections 2020

Dr. Keith Rowley and the PNM has won the 2020 Trinidad and Tobago General Elections, securing another 5 year term.

Great is the PNM! This was the declaration after the People’s National Movement retained their power in the 2020 Trinidad and Tobago general elections, on Monday, 10 August 2020.

President Paula-Mae Weekes, with the advice of Prime Minister Keith Rowley, dissolved Parliament and issued the writs for the election on 3 July 2020.

With the recession, a global pandemic and migration taking center stage in this election, the PNM, under the leadership of the incumbent Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, won 22 seats to secure a second five-year term majority government. Leading opposition party, United National Congress, led by Kamla Persad-Bissessar, won 19 seats of the 41 electoral seats.

Official results of the Trinidad and Tobago 2020 Elections are expected later today.
