Reigning Miss World, Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh, will serve until 2021, as the international pageant will not be staged in 2020 due to the current pandemic.

COVID-19 has really thrown a wrench in 2020 plans for many people, including the women who had their hearts set on competing in the Miss World pageant this year.

Miss World 2021 will be the 70th anniversary of the Miss World pageant. Toni-Ann Singh will crown her successor at the end of the event. The ceremony will be held in later 2021 because of COVID-19 pandemic, announced by Julia Morley, the chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization.

Toni-Ann Singh Singh became the fourth Jamaican to win the Miss World title back on December 14, 2019, in London.

According to the Jamaica Observer, Singh’s philanthropic work is focused on the Women’s Centre Foundation in her native parish of St Thomas. It was name her “Beauty With A Purpose” project during her reign. The facility assists teen mothers to further their education after giving birth.

The Miss World pageant will resume in the latter part of 2021 and that the host country and venue will be confirmed very soon.
