Congratulations to Karine Jean-Pierre, the first ever black Chief of Staff to ever be appointed to serve a Vice Presidential candidate.

The Haitian-American powerhouse was recently selected by Joe Biden to serve as his senior advisor on his 2020 Presidential campaign and has moved up to a position never held before by any Black person.

Before joining Biden’s team earlier this year, Karine Jean-Pierre was chief public affairs officer for MoveOn and also worked on both Obama presidential campaigns. She was also a regional political director in the Obama White House

The announcement of Jean-Pierre’s new role was made prior to Joe Biden finally declaring that Kamala Harris will be his running mate.

Jean-Pierre, was born in Martinique to Haitian immigrant parents and raised in Queens, New York.

She is a graduate of Columbia University and the author of Moving Forward; A Story of Hope, Hard Work and the Promise of America.
