He will report to Intelsat Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer David M. Tolley.

“Tahmin’s financial acumen and deep expertise in leading investor communications in the communications sector will serve as a tremendous asset to us, especially during this time of industry transition as we evaluate our future opportunities,” said Tolley. “He brings a deep understanding of the complexities of our sector and a reputation for proactive relationship-building and stakeholder communications. GROWING UP IN THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS TO REPRESENTING PEOPLE OF COLOR IN C-SUITE BOARDROOMS

Speaking exclusively to Jay Blessed, Tahmin Clarke shared his thoughts on being Vice President at Intelsat, “It was a radical shift for me moving from a warm, familiar environment to one that was cold, fast-paced (academically at least) and at times could be cutthroat. But I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world because it prepared me for life in the real world.”

How does he feel about his new role as Intelsat’s Vice President of Investor Relations?

“Investor Relations positions are highly sought after. Every time an opportunity comes forth, 40 or 50 or maybe 100 people apply for the role. These are people who are at the top of the stack, in terms of both experience and financial acumen. To be considered in the same breath as these other candidates is an honor,” Clarke shared.

He continued, “As you can imagine, I am one of the few people of color in investor relations, and in and around Wall Street. It makes me proud when I walk in the room and I represent for other people of color who don’t have access to that audience.”

GIVING BACK TO THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS

Not one to forget his humble beginnings, Clarke is committed to giving back to his USVI family and Caribbean community.

“I started an entrepreneurial venture outside of the scope of the financial world to help lower the cost of goods in my native land of the U.S Virgin Islands. My dream is to make that business self-sustaining so that I can dedicate my final chapter to giving back to island communities, like the one I grew up in,” Clarke exclusively shared with Jay Blessed.

Clarke comes to Intelsat with nearly 20 years’ expertise in investor relations and corporate finance in the telecommunications industry. Most recently, he was Vice President of Investor Relations for Reston, Va.’s Ligado Networks, a communications company that operates satellites and wireless networks.

Clarke also held senior-level roles with NII Holdings, Inc., providing mobile communications services under the Nextel brand in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is a CFA® charterholder.
