Fresh off the release of his long anticipated, first album in a decade “Upside Down,” and all the press that goes with it – Gargamel has added yet another jewel to his crown. Buju Banton has just won the 2020 Jamaica Festival Song Competition!
Buju’s patriotic entry “I am a Jamaican” succeeded amongst 250 participants that included Freddie McGregor, Toots and Maytals and Nazzleman.

According to the Jamaican Gleaner: “The Grammy winner walked away with the $3 million prize and suggested that his charity would be a beneficiary.“
“The true winner tonight is the Sunbeam Boys’ Home,” said as he received his symbolic cheque.
