Adele Accused Of Cultural Appropriation & I Disagree!
SHARE THIS STORY:

Freshly svelte Adele, who has been busy showing off her new physique since her devastating divorce, posted a picture in honor of what would’ve been Notting Hill Carnival, rocking bantu knots, mini feather backpack and a Jamaican bra. However, Adele is being accused of cultural appropriation and I disagree!

Due to COVID-19, Notting Hill Carnival, one of the world’s largest celebrations of Caribbean culture, was cancelled. However, that didn’t stop the native Londoner who lives in California, from showing love to a tradition that she has participated in for decades.

Normally, I am pretty opinionated but I truly see nothing wrong with this photo. In its intended context, this is Adele showing her appreciation for carnival culture. Had Notting Hill Carnival been on, and she was dressed in full costumed regalia, people around the world would be bigging her up, not dragging her!

Carnival culture is inclusive. Carnival culture is fun. Despite landing severe blows with the coronavirus – Carnival culture still lives on!

Much love to people like Adele who are reminding the world of what would’ve been our normalcy and honoring Caribbean culture.

Besides, I ain’t ever seen Adele in anything this skimpy before. She struggled with her weight for years, gave us great music, had a whole child and went through emotional hell with her very messy and public divorce from Simon Konecki. I am sure Adele was really counting the days to Notting Hill Carnival 2020, so she could play her whole self, live her whole life and channel her inner Rihanna by showing off her new sexy body in a skimpy bejeweled costume! SHE DESERVES THAT SHIT!

Would people feel the same way if it was fat Adele wearing this costume and rocking her bantu knots? Or does her new weight play a part into how people are viewing her as this new woman?

Here’s what many people on Twitter had to say in regards to Adele’s alleged cultural appropriation…

To Adele’s defense, a lot of the people criticizing her are African Americans, who do not care about the inclusivity of CARIBBEAN CARNIVAL CULTURE, and frankly, who may not even GAF about Caribbean people!

Caribbean American People โ€“ Fill Out The 2020 Census!

Carnival culture is freedom.

Carnival culture is good vibes.

Carnival culture is for everyone.

Carnival culture is also cosplay.

I think it is very easy for us to identify people who unapologetically, maliciously, and with the highest level of entitlement, appropriate black culture…this ain’t it!

Leave that damn woman alone and go fight with the Kardashians or Chet Hanks, or get people registered to vote or some shit!

TF is wrong with y’all?!
