Jack Warner Tests Positive For COVID-19

Former FIFA Vice-President and T&T’s Former National Security Minister Austin Jack Warner has tested positive for COVID-19.

Mr. Warner, 77, fell ill this past weekend and was hospitalized after visiting the Westshore Hospital in Cocorite, with complaints of feeling drained and shortness of breath.

Doctors tested him for cardiac issues and also administered a COVID-19 test which returned positive.

The news was confirmed on his official Facebook page

Warner’s COVID-19 positive results is not surprising. Trinidad and Tobago has seen a rise in COVID cases within the last month, prompting Prime Minister Keith Rowley to ramp up measures and implement stringent laws and fines nationally.

The former Deputy Political Leader of the UNC and founder of new political party ILP, has since been discharged and is quarantined at home.
